Critical Notice: StolenorNOT is an AI-powered search tool. A "clean" result means no stolen reports were found in the databases searched. It does NOT guarantee an item isn't stolen. Always ask for proof of purchase and exercise common sense.

1. Acceptance

By using StolenorNOT, you agree to these Terms.

2. How It Works

StolenorNOT is a client-side web application. You provide your own Groq API key. All processing happens between your browser and Groq's API. There is no StolenOrNOT server.

3. NOT a Legal Guarantee

StolenorNOT is NOT a substitute for:

An official police stolen property check
A professional title search or lien check
Common sense (if the price is too good to be true, walk away)
Asking the seller for proof of purchase or original receipt

A clean result does NOT mean an item is not stolen. Not all stolen items are reported to searchable databases. Use this tool as one of many steps in your due diligence.

4. No Guarantees

Search results may be incomplete or inaccurate due to:

Stolen items that were never reported to police
Reports not yet entered into searchable databases
Serial numbers filed off or altered
Items stolen in jurisdictions with no public database
AI misreading a serial number from a photo
Database downtime or search limitations

5. Your API Key

You are responsible for your own Groq API key and its usage.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use StolenorNOT for:

Checking whether stolen property you possess has been reported (don't be that person)
Facilitating the sale of stolen goods
Automated bulk queries or API abuse
Harassment or stalking
Any purpose that violates applicable laws

7. Limitation of Liability

StolenorNOT is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:

Financial losses from purchasing stolen property despite a clean result
Incomplete or inaccurate search results
Missed stolen property reports
Any decisions made based on tool results
